The Butter Book Team, 10X Thinkers

Chef's Note

The Butter Book ("BB") was born from a lifelong passion for pastry and a deep desire to bring something truly special to the heart of Midtown Memphis. My journey began here, but it took me across the country and beyond, from Memphis to Seattle, Vancouver, and back, where I was fortunate to experience world-class bakeries and globally inspired café culture.  Driven by that passion, I trained at one of North America's top pastry programs, the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA) in Vancouver, BC. There, I immersed myself in the art and discipline of traditional French baking, mastering the techniques that now form the foundation of The Butter Book.  My vision is simple: To marry the refinement of French pastry techniques with the soul of Memphis cuisine and culture. Inspired by my global travels and years of exposure to top-tier bakeries, The Butter Book represents a refined yet welcoming destination, a place where sophistication meets authenticity, where every detail matters, and where every layer is crafted with care. The Butter Book isn't just another coffee shop; it's an invitation to slow down, connect, and savor life's small, beautiful moments.

About us

Born from a love of elevated simplicity, the Butter Book Project was created as a space where food is an elevated journey of texture, culture, and connection. It’s a place that every pastry tells a story, every detail is designed to delight, and every visit is meant to linger in memory.

Our culinary philosophy is deeply sensory. From handpicked ingredients to our seasonal approach to menu design, each element is chosen with care. Our chefs explore a spectrum of flavor, bringing subtlety and sophistication into harmony with bold heritage notes. Whether it’s a delicate eclair, the focus remains honesty, beauty, and balance.

The Butter
Book is here.
